Burnett's Judy John named Jury Co-Chair for CASSIES 2017.

The CASSIES are respected and coveted for recognizing Canada's most effective advertising and communications campaigns. So, it's fitting that Leo Burnett's North American Chief Creative Officer and Toronto CEO, Judy John, will co-chair this year's judging panel of 16 top industry professionals. Prior to this honour, Judy has chaired jury panels at Cannes, Clio, ADC and the Brand Film Festival.

A feast of Cannes Lions for Leo Toronto.

Our much-awarded Cook This Page campaign for IKEA Canada captured 2 Gold and 2 Bronze Cannes Lions at the 2017 Festival. Our pride of Lions includes a Gold Outdoor Lion for Small Scale and Special Solutions and a Gold Design Lion in the Promotion Item Design category. There's a Bronze Promo and Activation Lion for Food and Drinks, and a Bronze Direct Lion for Art Direction/Design. The campaign was shortlisted for a Titanium Lion and was also recognized with 4 other Shortlist honours, for Design, Direct, Media and Promo and Activation.

LB Toronto wins Design Best of Show. And then some.

The Marketing Awards have long recognized Canada’s best advertising and communications. This year, our Cook This Page parchment paper creative for IKEA Canada sizzled, winning Design Best in Show, Golds for Best in Point-Of-Purchase and Collateral, plus 3 more Design category Golds. In all, our tally totaled 5 Gold, 5 Silver, 2 Bronze and 10 Shortlists, for clients that include IKEA, Gain, Museum of Contemporary Art and Smith Restaurant & Bar. Winning work covered a range of disciplines...from Design and Direct to Digital, Film, OOH, Ambient and Press.

Leo Toronto wins bronze at the North American Effie awards.

Each year, the Effie Awards North America honour the most effective marketing cases in the U.S. and Canada. This year, our Seriously Good Scent entry for P&G Gain Flings won a Bronze Effie in the Household Supplies & Service category. The campaign that parodied the fragrance category was Gain's highest-scoring creative in history and drove a significant sales increase for the brand.

Leo Toronto most awarded Canadian agency at the One Show.

The One Show awards cap off the One Club’s annual Creative Week celebrating great advertising and design in all its forms. This year, our Cook This Page parchment paper recipe creative for IKEA Canada continued on its winning ways. The much-awarded campaign won Gold, 4 Silver, Bronze and Merit Pencils in various Direct Marketing, Design and Print & Outdoor categories. We also won a Print & Outdoor Merit for Yellow Pages The Lemonade Stand and 3 Design Merits for Museum of Contemporary Art Call for Support and Invitations work. A final Design Merit honoured our Smith Brunch Menu for Smith Restaurant + Bar.

Leo Toronto wins Canada's only Gold ADC Cube.

As the oldest continuous running industry award show in the world, the Art Directors Club’s Annual Awards show is uniquely prestigious. This year, at ADC's 96th gala event, our Cook This Page campaign for IKEA Canada did us proud. The internationally acclaimed parchment paper recipe creative won Canada's only Gold Cube, awarded in the Specialty Product/Wildcard category. In addition, Cook This Page wrapped up 2 Silver, 1 Bronze and a Merit award in a number of Advertising, Design and Promotional categories.

Leo Toronto checks out with Gold, Silver & Bronze at the Shopper Innovation Awards.

Each year, Strategy's Shopper Innovation Awards celebrate Canada's breakthrough retail and consumer packaged goods programs. At the 2017 show, LB Toronto was recognized for three of those breakthrough shopper innovations. Our IKEA Pick-Up and Order Point Hyperlapse took home Gold – the sole award in the Out-of-the-Box Retail category. Moving Day, our campaign for IKEA Montreal, won a Silver for Path to Purchase/Out-of-Store. While the final award in our cart, a Bronze, was for our Yellow Pages The Lemonade Stand Packaging designs.
